Deep Dive

Interactive exercises that adapt to your level

What is Deep Dive?

Deep Dive is a structured exercise system embedded within AI-generated lessons. After the AI tutor teaches you a concept, Deep Dive presents interactive exercises that test and reinforce your understanding. The system adapts to your performance, identifying weak areas and providing targeted practice.

Exercise Types

Fill-in-the-Blank

Complete sentences or equations by filling in missing words, numbers, or phrases. These exercises test recall and contextual understanding, ensuring you can apply what you have learned in realistic scenarios.

Step-by-Step Solver

Work through multi-step problems with guided intermediate steps. Instead of jumping straight to a final answer, the solver breaks complex problems into manageable pieces, helping you build problem-solving confidence.

Multiple Choice

Select the correct answer from a set of options. Multiple choice exercises are designed with carefully crafted distractors that address common misconceptions, helping you distinguish between similar concepts.

Input Modes

Keyboard Mode

Type your answers freely using the keyboard. This mode is ideal for older students and exercises that require precise text input, such as spelling or short-answer responses.

Word Bank Mode

Select answers from a set of tappable chips. The word bank includes the correct answer along with distractors to provide an appropriate level of challenge. This mode is great for younger learners, mobile users, or exercises focused on recognition rather than recall.

How It Works

1

AI generates a lesson - The tutor creates a lesson tailored to your chosen topic and skill level

2

Interactive exercises test understanding - Deep Dive presents a set of exercises aligned with the lesson content

3

Results saved and mastery calculated - Your performance is recorded and used to update your mastery score using an Exponential Moving Average algorithm that weighs recent performance more heavily

4

Weak areas identified - The system pinpoints concepts you are struggling with and generates targeted follow-up exercises

Teacher Features

Teachers have access to powerful tools for managing Deep Dive exercises:

  • Assignment Creation - Assign specific Deep Dive topics to individual students or entire classes
  • Review Gates - Control whether exercises are automatically approved or require teacher review before being marked complete. Status options include auto-approved, pending review, approved, and rejected
  • Batch Results - View aggregated performance data across all students in a class to identify common areas of difficulty
Teacher Tip: Use the review gate set to "pending review" for higher-stakes assignments where you want to verify student understanding before they move on.

Clinical Integration

For Speech-Language Pathologists and special education professionals, Deep Dive includes an IEP bridge that maps exercise performance to clinical support levels. This integration allows exercise results to automatically feed into IEP goal progress tracking, reducing manual data entry and ensuring consistent measurement.

Pause and Resume

Life happens. If you need to stop in the middle of an exercise set, your progress is automatically saved to your device. When you return, you can pick up exactly where you left off without losing any work.

Note: Pause and resume data is stored locally on your device. If you switch to a different device, you will need to start the exercise set from the beginning.
