Microphone Issues
Microphone Not Working
If Cocovox can't access your microphone:

Check Browser Permissions
Click the lock icon in your browser's address bar and ensure microphone access is allowed for cocovox.ai.

Check System Permissions
- Windows: Settings → Privacy → Microphone → Allow apps to access
- Mac: System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Microphone
- iOS: Settings → Cocovox → Microphone
- Android: Settings → Apps → Cocovox → Permissions

Test Your Microphone
Test in another application to confirm it works (Voice Memos, Zoom, etc.).

Select the Right Microphone
If you have multiple microphones, go to Settings → Audio and select the correct one.
Poor Audio Quality
- Use a headset or external microphone for better quality
- Reduce background noise
- Speak clearly and at a consistent distance from the microphone
- Check that your microphone isn't muffled or covered
Recording Cuts Off
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection
- Keep the browser tab active while recording
- Don't exceed the maximum recording length (10 minutes for most features)
Tip: For best results, record in a quiet environment with minimal echo. Hard surfaces
reflect sound; soft furnishings absorb it.
Speaker/Playback Issues
No Audio Playback
If you can't hear audio:
- Check your system volume isn't muted
- Ensure headphones are properly connected
- Click somewhere on the page first (browsers block autoplay)
- Check that the correct audio output is selected in your system settings
Audio Playing on Wrong Device
- Check your system audio settings
- In your browser, click the speaker icon in the tab
- Select the correct output device
Text-to-Speech Not Working
- Ensure text-to-speech is enabled in Settings → Accessibility
- Check that you have an active internet connection
- Try a different voice in Settings → Voice
Video Issues
Videos Not Playing
- Check your internet connection speed
- Try lowering the video quality setting
- Disable hardware acceleration in your browser
- Clear your browser cache
Videos Buffering or Stuttering
- Pause and wait for the video to load more
- Close other tabs and applications using bandwidth
- Connect to a faster network if available
- Try watching during off-peak hours
Image Upload Issues
Can't Upload Images
- Check file format (JPG, PNG, GIF supported)
- Ensure file is under 10MB
- Try a different image
- Check browser permissions for file access
Image Not Displaying
- Refresh the page
- Clear browser cache
- Check if the image appears in another browser
Device-Specific Issues
iPad/iPhone
- Ensure Low Power Mode is off (can affect audio)
- Check that Silent Mode isn't enabled
- Use Safari for best compatibility
Android
- Grant microphone permission when prompted
- Use Chrome for best compatibility
- Check that battery saver isn't blocking audio
Chromebook
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Site Settings → Microphone
- Ensure cocovox.ai is allowed
